South West Approval for the Removal of a Holiday Occupancy Condition

barn conversion holiday accommodation

Consent has recent been granted by a Devon authority for the removal of a planning condition restricting the occupation of a barn for a be used and occupied for the purposes of holiday accommodation

and specifically not be used as a permanent letting unit or primary residence.  After initial consultation with the Council, whereby the agreed guide price and period of marketing were agreed, Acorus proceeded with advertising the property online (Acorus website, Rightmove and Zoopla) and in local periodicals. Acorus successfully argued, after more than a 12 month period of marketing to assess demand for the property as a holiday let, that the condition had outlived its usefulness and planning consent was subsequently issued.  The client was delighted with the outcome, quoting via email, “This is excellent news, many thanks to you and your team”.
