Our eastern team, in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, have been successful in gaining planning permission for a new dwelling to supervise a horticultural business in Buckinghamshire.
The family run business is a large raspberry producer, established in 1984. The business has approximately 12 acres of poly tunnels and 9000m2 of glass; under which the raspberries are grown.
The business has plans to expand as a result of the purchase of neighboring land. This has been coupled with the existing owner/manager retiring and passing the day to day running onto his daughter.
There is an existing dwelling occupied by the present manager, who wishes to remain in his home post retirement. A successful case was made, together with citation of previous cases and appeal cases that Acorus have been involved in, that the business requires a new dwelling which would take over the role that the existing dwelling had fulfilled up to this point.
