Local Development Frameworks
Local Development Frameworks (LDF's) are part of the 'two tier' plan system introduced in 2004. The other aspect is the Regional Spatial Strategy which sets out the broad planning strategy for a Region.
LDF's are a folder of local development documents prepared at a local level by a district council, unitary authority or national park.
Members of the public, businesses and the community as a whole have important roles to play in the preparation of LDF's, indeed part of the process involves a statement of community involvement within which the Local Authority lays down how everyone will be included.
As a landowner or possibly an interested resident you can have an input into general policies but also in terms of land allocated for residential, industrial or other uses.
The sooner you get involved the better. Acorus can advise you on your land and make the necessary representations on your behalf.
